About Me

Educational History:

I graduated from Anna High School in 1985.  I went to Texas Tech University and graduated in 1989.

Degrees and Certifications:

I have a B.S. in Education with a specialization in English from Texas Tech.  I am also certified to teach 4th-8th Science, Gifted and Talented and Reading by Design, a dsylexic curriculum.

Current Position:

I am one of the 6th grade ELAR teachers. I will also be teaching a Jr. High Dsylexic class during Eagle Edge.  This is my 33rd year in Education, but my first year at Fairfield ISD.  I am ready to Soar Like An Eagle!

Previous Position:

I retired in 2022 from Groesbeck ISD after 30 years with them.  I was serving as their G.T. Coordinator/Teacher.  While at that district I also taught 2nd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade Science, 6th grade ELAR, 6th Grade Science, and was a UIL Coach and have been a Jr. High and Varsity cheer sponsor. I started teaching in my hometown at Anna ISD, I taught 2nd grade.

Family Information:

I became Mrs. Baize in 1993.  Mr. Baize passed away in 2011.  We have 3 children that are now grown: Chad, Dillon and Peyton.  All 3 graduated from Groesbeck HIgh School.  Chad also graduated from Texas A&M.  I have 2 daughter in laws, Ashley and Chloe.  I have 2 grandchildren, Corbin and Wilder, and one due in December, Waylon. I also have two other very special little ones in my life, Masa and Creston. They call me Aunt Alisha.  They belong to my cousin Cullen and his wife Mandy.  They live in Fairfield.   I have too many Australian Shepards! Their names are  Skipper, Reba, CC, Skeeba and Shane.  I have rode horses all my life and enjoy riding and raising AQHA and APHA horses.  I had 4 foals this year.  Their names are Little B, Dash, Blondie and Firecracker.

Personal Information:

I love to read.  I have great rhythm and love to dance.  I am the world’s worse singer, however, I still sometimes sing in class.  I didn’t have a garden this year, but I do love to garden and work in flower beds.  I think canning is very satisfying.  I love going on trips and/or hanging out with my family and friends.  Grandparenting is the most awesome thing.  I love doing anything with horses.  I like to help work cattle. I enjoy helping out at rodeos or watching them.
